William Bee Ririe Hospital and Clinic, demonstrating compliance with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)-national standards for health care quality and safety, earned the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval.

The William Bee Ririe Hospital & Rural Health Clinic JCAHO accreditation demonstrates our committment to quality patient care and patient safety.  'We view obtaining JCAHO accreditation as another step toward excellence,' the Chief Executive Officer and Administrator, Rick Kilburn pointed out.

The public can access Quality Reports from the Quality Check section of the Joint Commission website, www.jcaho.org or by going directly to www.qualitycheck.org.  The Joint Commission will release the Quality Reports publicly beginning July 15, 2004. 

Finally, any employee of the William Bee Ririe Hospital and Rural Health Clinic, or any member of the public and community, who have concerns about patient care and safety that have not been addressed through the patient complaint systems process or hospital's management, is encouraged to contact the Joint Commission's Office of Quality Monitoring to report any concerns or register complains about a Joint Commission-accredited health care organization by either calling 1-800-994-6610 or e-mailing complaint@jointcommission.org.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations will conduct an accreditation survey of the William Bee Ririe Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic anticipated to be in the month of March 2008.

The purpose of the survey will be to evaluate the organization's compliance with nationally established Joint Commission standards.  The survey results will be used to determine whether, and the conditions under which accreditation should be awarded the organization.

Joint Commission standards deal with organizational quality and safety of care issues and the safety of the environment in which care is provided.  Anyone believing that he or she has pertinent and valid information about such matters may request a public information interview with the Joint Commission's field representatives at the time of the survey.  Information presented at the interview will be carefully evaluated for relevance to the accreditation process.  Requests for a public information interview must be made in writing and should be sent to the Joint Commission no later than five working days before the survey begins.  The request must also indicate the nature of the information to be provided at the interview.  Such requests should be addressed to:

The Joint Commission will acknowledge such requests in writing or by telephone and will inform the organization of the request for any interview.  The organization will, in turn, notify the interviewee of the date, time, and place of the meeting.

This notice is posted in accordance with the Joint Commission's requirements and may not be removed before the survey is completed.
