OPEN HOUSE - NATIONAL HOSPITAL WEEK 2008
William Bee Ririe Hospital celebrated National Hospital Week with an Open House on Wednesday, May 14th, 2008 from the hours of 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of the hospital. The Board of Trustees, physicians and staff were proud to be a part of the $5,400,000 expansion and remodeling project upgrading many of the facility's departments including Emergency Department, laboratory, outpatient/surgical recovery rooms, respiratory therapy, radiology, physical therapy, pharmacy, Women's Auxiliary "Pink Ladies" gift shop, and laundry.
To those of you who joined us - Thank You! William Bee Ririe Hospital located in Ely, Nevada, White Pine County, is truly a unique facillity to our rural community.
Annual William Bee Ririe Hospital Health Fair 2008
William Bee Ririe Hospital sponsored the Annual Health Fair on Friday, May 23, 2008. For the convenience of the community the hours were scheduled from 6:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The Health Fair is very fortunate to have the cooperation and participation of so many such as: staff from the William Bee Ririe Hospital and Rural Health Clinic represented by Summit Therapy Services-Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, the Dietary Department, Laboratory Department, Radiology Department and hospital and clinic nursing/medical assistant staff to conduct blood pressure and free body fat screenings. And as always, the WBRH Auxiliary - our Pink Ladies - were present to assist us all.
We look forward to continue serving the community and the opportunity to provide such a valuable service to the community. Participation from various entities around the community such as the White Pine Care Center, Dr. Willis-Chiropractor, Nevada Home Health, Family to Family, Clinic Nursing/MA staff, Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Nevada Cancer Institute, Nevada RESEP Project, Economy Drug, Ely Mental Health, Domestic Violence Committee, WICHE and EEOICPA, to name just a few have participated in years previous! We welcome the representatives from Renown in participating in the William Bee Ririe Hospital Annual Health Fair too. The next Health Fair will be in May 2009! Nevada RESEP Project
The William Bee Ririe Rural Health Clinic continues to coordinate with the University of Nevada School of Medicine (UNSOM) partnering with the Area Health Education Center of Southern Nevada to conduct medical screenings. The Nevada Radiation Exposure Screening and Education Project (RESEP) is a federally funded project aimed at identifying, education, and screening individuals who were exposed to radiation as a result of atmosphericnuclear testing at the Nevada Test Site and to uranium mining industry workers. This project is geared to locate individuals who either worked at the Nevada Test Site or lived in a community located downwind from the NTAS during atmospheric nuclear testing from 1951 to July 1962.
